STEM in Schools

Bringing STEM
to life
Real-world STEM applications in your classroom.
The Smallpeice Trust offers immersive STEM experiences for primary and secondary schools, encouraging young people at all ages to pursue careers in engineering and become the changemakers of tomorrow.
Working closely with an exciting array of partners, we offer fully funded opportunities including virtual and in-school STEM events, STEM competitions, and teacher CPD in coding.
Schools often tell us how difficult it is to link different STEM subjects together with real-world applications – that’s exactly the problem our STEM activities solve.
All of our events complement the national curriculum in science, technology, engineering and maths and are aligned with the Skills Builder partnership.
You’ll find all the information in the links below, or see our Teacher FAQs for even more detail.

Primary school
activities
Spark curiosity from age 8+
Introduce your students to the exciting world of engineering by signing up for a STEM activity, specifically designed for primary school students aged 8+.
Our hands-on workshops make engineering concepts accessible and fun, showing young learners that STEM is for everyone. From building bridges to creating simple machines, we bring the classroom to life with practical problem-solving challenges.
Perfect for students who are just beginning to explore the possibilities of engineering and technology.
Secondary school
activities
Fuel their passion for STEM from age 11+
Provide a unique experience for your secondary school students by signing up for one of our STEM activities – designed to fuel their passion for STEM and get them thinking about a potential career in engineering.
For ages 11+, activities range from designing, testing and refining low-emission vehicles, building speakers, wind turbines, railways and bridges.
Our secondary programmes connect directly to curricula across the UK while giving students insight into real engineering careers and university pathways.
