Carole has been working with children and young people for nearly 30 years, in a variety of different roles – teaching a range of subjects such as Art and Design, Child Development, Criminology, Health and Social Care and Psychology.

During her time in secondary school, she became a department manager and joined the local business partnership to develop a programme of events supporting school leavers entering the world of work.

“This was important to me as I believe that young people need to have the opportunity to prepare for the next stage of their life,” she said.

Since retiring from teaching, Carole joined The Smallpeice Trust as an Educational Officer.

“I have always enjoyed working with children and young people and my role gives me the opportunity to enable them to try out new experiences in the design and engineering world,” she added.

Outside of work Carole enjoys gardening, needlecraft, reading and looking after her grandchildren.
