Ready for take off? Road to RIAT: Blast Off is back and better than ever! This fully-funded programme invites state secondary schools across the UK to ignite their passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through engaging challenges and hands-on activities taking place across the remainder of the academic year.
This initiative is generously sponsored and delivered in partnership with the RAF Charitable Trust.
About Road to RIAT: Blast Off
Students currently aged 11-14 will join our virtual livestream where they will learn more about the space-themed competition they will be participating in. In teams of 4, they will submit their entry and compete with other schools across the country. We'll provide materials for student research, support for teachers, and assistance throughout the competition.
Following on from the competition launch, 60 state schools within Scotland, Northwest England, North East England, East Midlands, West Midlands and South West England will then participate in a face-to-face STEM day, delivered by The Smallpeice Trust.
SCHOOLS WILL NEED TO BOOK ON TO THIS SEPARATELY BY EMAILING BLASTOFFTORIAT@SMALLPEICETRUST.ORG.UK
Regional Winners of the space competition will receive £100. The National Winner will also receive TWO Lego Spike Prime Kits for their school! PLUS regional and national winners that have also received a STEM day will also be invited to join us at The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) and compete in another spaced themed STEM challenge against other schools.
