Road to RIAT Returns!
Following the incredible response from last year, we're thrilled to announce that the Road to RIAT programme is back for a third year! An inspiring journey into the world of STEM, brought to you by the RAF Charitable Trust, the RAF, and with support from Accenture.
This year, we are inviting primary schools for children across the UK to join us on this exciting adventure. Students aged 9-11 and in primary school can soar into a world of innovation and creativity with a series of captivating activities, starting with the STEM Challenge - a full-day, virtual workshop that brings the excitement of aerospace engineering right into classrooms across the UK.

Throughout Road to RIAT, students in Year 5-6 (or equivalent) will have the opportunity to get involved in numerous activities throughout the academic year starting with the STEM Challenge - an exciting full-day workshop and competition delivered virtually to classrooms across the UK – with some fantastic prizes on offer for the competition winners!
The programme is designed to inspire young minds to stimulate personal development and highlight the importance of sustainability in aerospace. Here's what's in store:
- A virtual in-school STEM event delivered by The Smallpeice Trust.
- A design competition focusing on the sustainability of aerospace.
- Virtual Interactive "Meet the STEM Superstars Livestream Sessions".
- A chance to visit the prestigious Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) in 2024.
Road to RIAT aligns with several key areas of the curriculum, and we provide full resources and teacher guides to make the journey as smooth as possible. Plus, it's completely FREE for schools as it's fully funded!
