Andy’s association with Smallpeice Trust started in 2003, acting as a supervisor on residential courses. This coincided with a career change for him from technical sales to teaching physics.
He delivered on one to two courses every year until 2015. And, after retiring from teaching, he was invited to deliver STEM days.
“In fact, I’m a veteran of more 150 days delivered STEM courses,” he said.
He finds helping young people develop STEM skills and an interest in engineering as a career truly satisfying. He also regularly oversees residential courses and has contributed to many new projects.
“I love all things scientific and technical,” he added.
When not working Andy loves travelling, cooking, puzzles, and games and quizzes, with the odd appearance even on TV game shows!
“My advice to students is to keep an open mind and do lots of research. Ideally chose what you both like and are good at.”
