David Oyns
David Oyns was born in North Yorkshire and trained for teaching at Shoreditch College of Education, Surrey. He taught at schools in the south-west, finally at Clifton College, Bristol.

He is currently teaching STEM subjects on behalf of the Trust across southern England and Wales. Additionally, he is a Regional Liaison Officer for the Arkwright Scholarships Trust, covering 11 English and Welsh Counties
David is a Rotarian and served as a Councillor on North Somerset Council and Portishead Town Council. He set up and ran Avonmouth Youth Club, ran ‘Insight into Industry’ courses in collaboration with his local Chamber of Commerce and taught technology with the ‘WISE’ – Women into Science and Engineering - programme.
Commissioned in the RAF from Cranwell, he commanded the RAF Section of the Combined Cadet Force at Clifton College and served as a Range Control Officer.
He has interests in aviation, industrial archaeology, steam locomotives and model engineering.
