We’ve partnered with Playground Games, the triple-A games developer behind the Forza Horizon series, to run a video game design competition for KS3 students at State Schools across the UK.
Over the course of 10 one-hour sessions, the Games Dev Club will give students an opportunity to build three minigames, with the support of gaming experts. Building teamwork and leadership skills, students will learn how to concept, pitch, program, design and produce their own games, using our online materials and Scratch software.
The launch event on 15 March introduces the activities and competition to students. Schools will then run the 10 one-hour sessions at times that suit them, between 15 March and 7 June for 20-30 students in Year 9 (England and Wales), S3 (Scotland) or Year 10 (Northern Ireland). These can be run as part of normal computing lessons or as an after-school club.
